Enigma Box

You'd think that being a scientist would be easy. You'd probably also think there's not as many skills to use. Successful scientist possess certain important attitudes, or habits of mind, including curiosity, honesty, open mindedness, skepticism, and creativity. The enigma box activity i used many scientific attitudes, such as curiosity, open mindedness, and many others. As for science skills, i used many like observing or predicting. It's amazing how many things you must use in order to get the right conclusion and the correct hypothesis!

The demonstration made me determined on what really happens. The enigma box is a three dimensional black rectangle with two holes on the top. One hole is the size of my index finger in which you pour the liquid in, and another hole that's about the size of a safety pin. There's also a clear cylinder tube coming from the bottom which the liquid comes out of when it hits about 475-500 ml. why you may ask? the answer soon revealed!

How do you know what's really going on in that enigma box. Well to me, it's still a mystery! My thoughts are, the enigma box has a soak-like sponge inside of it. As you pour the water/liquid inside the bigger hole, it soaks it up and finally when it's over saturated it releases the liquid. My other thought is it doesn't release all of it, but only until it can continue to soak again. The enigma box is very complex to think about but is a very interesting mystery-like activity waiting to be discovered!

I was so surprised once I found out what the enigma box really does!
There's one long tube that goes up and around the box.
The reason why it doesn't start dripping until 475-500 ml. is because that's when the liquid is over the top of the tube. It's all about pressure!
so as it pumps through, it continues to pour out. What happens when there's no more water and it's not over the top? this is a question I'd ask and the answer is, once it goes through there will be air and so the air goes against the pressure and shoots the rest of the liquid up and around to the clear rubber cylinder in which is the ending of the liquids journey!

When you read your paragraph and then read mine, you might notice some similaries and differences. For example, a similarty that we both used observation and predicting. We had many more diferences like I used inferring when you didn't. Also, we had different opinions on how the box worked. I thought a plafrom was used where you thought a sponge was included. Another difference was our observations. I still think your's was way better.

Reading your post made me realize I might have left out some things. You included a lot of detail. Entertainment filled every paragraph. I enjoyed reading every sentence. You did a great job!
